The band CROSSROADZ (X-ROUDZ) was formed in Moscow in 1990 by the renowned Russian Blues guitarist and vocalist Sergei Voronov. It was in East Berlin, at the age of 12, that Sergei first discovered the guitar. Along the way, by listening to tapes passed along by friends, he discovered his love for the Blues.
1986 - with Peter Gabriel, Little Steven, and Lou Reed among others at the Japan Aid Festival in Tokyo.
1987 - 1989 - That summer Sergei visited New York City again where drummer extraordinaire Steve Jordan introduced him to Keith Richards of Rolling Stones, who invited him for guest appearance on his solo release Talk is Cheap.
1993 - X-ROUDZ appeared at the mammoth Estonian Rock Summer Festival with Faith No More, Procol Harum, New Model Army, and a host of other international acts.
1994 - By December, the maestro himself, B.B. King, heard and delighted in the music of X-ROUDZ, stating "if I enjoyed your playing, everybody should."
1996 - brought about a slew of concerts as Voronov performed as a special guest of ZZ Top and Nazareth and also jammed with Sting and his band during their stay in Moscow. The year closed with Sergei's featured performance with Dan Akroyd and the Blues Brothers Band at the opening of the House of Blues in Chicago.
1997 - At year's end, Voronov again found himself in New York City where he performed with the legendary Noel Redding of the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
1999 - An important event occurred in the latter part of the year. X-ROUDZ was the first Rock'n'Roll band in history to tour China, staging 23 performances in 20 cities (including Beijing). They managed to jam in Beijing's CD Cafe with Xiou Jan- the father of Chinese Rock.
2002 - Later this summer The CROSSROADZ were playing 3 gigs with Barry "The Fish" Melton (Country Joe And The Fish) on his trip to Russia.
2004 - In July the band performs in France at the Douarnenez festival. The Crossroadz play 3 gigs in the UK: The 100Club and Halfmoon Putney in London and The Caulflower in Ilford.
2006 - In may the band makes another successful London club tour, where the Woodstock legend Barry "The Fish" Melton joins The Crossroadz on stage.
